Thank you for coming to Tromsø!

"The IDF Dairy Science and Technology Week 2010" assembled 250 leading experts in dairy science and dairy processing from academia and industry representing 32 countries gathered in Tromsø, Norway to exchange and advance latest knowledge in dairy science and technology.

The week was composed of two scientific

s ymposia; the "IDF Symposium on Science and Technology of Fermented Milk" and the "IDF Symposium on Microstructure of Dairy Products".

The central theme was "healthier dairy products", focusing on new innovative ingredients such as probiotic strains and new manufacturing technologies that will contribute to enhance nutritional benefits for different consumer segments, greater taste and convenience for the comsumer.

The scientific papers presented at the two symposia will be published in a Special Issue of the International Dairy Journal in due course

The contribution by the participants, speakers, posters, sponsors and exhibitors has been magnificent. Especially we would like to thank our main sponsors: Tetra Pak, TINE and Danisco and the Programme Committees for organizing the scientific programme.

We hope you brought back home new insight and knowledge, that will allow industry to produce dairy products that deliver consumers with nutrition. health and enjoyment.

Furthermore we do hope you enjoyed staying in Tromsø, and that you brought home some different experiences from this part of the world!

From the feedback we have received, the level of satisfaction is very high, justifying the format of the week. Based on the attendance and success of the Tromsø events, it was suggested to organize a new IDF event on Fermented Milk and Microstructure in about 4 years.

As Organizing Committee we are pleased to have been part of this successful IDF event in Tromsø, Norway.
